The graduates of the March 2002 Essence Seminar organized a day of fun for the residents of a home for young women in distress in the Jerusalem area. The graduates would like to thank everyone who contributed to the realization of this very special project.

Following is a letter to the Outlook office from the manager of the home, followed by the impressions of the seminar supervisor.

State of Israel
Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs
Youth Welfare Authority

I would like to express my thanks and deepest gratitude, and also those of my staff, and especially those of the young women living at the distress center to the graduates of the March 2002 Essence Seminar for the event held on July 14th.
Unfortunately, I was unable to be present during this wonderful event, however on the return from my vacation, I was overwhelmed by the appreciation and deep admiration conveyed to me by my staff which simply doesn't occur following events and projects that are carried out by other bodies here at the institution.
They informed me about the exciting day, starting with the precision planning, tremendous investment of time, money and energy, professionalism in a variety of areas of interest to the girls, and in particular, a warmth that captivated the hearts of the girls and staff alike. Also the personal present that was given to each girl which expressed the contact of giving from the heart. The participants enjoyed themselves immensely and cooperated constructively and willingly. They were simply overwhelmed by the willingness of your group to donate all the time and effort for the sake of giving without personal benefit or interests.
I would especially like to thank Ronnie and Shela for the initiative and drive that resulted in this wonderful day, and to convey our gratitude from all of us to all of you.

         Sincerely,
    Shlomo Shoham

Hello everyone!

I want to share with you a fantastic experience that I had!
I realized only yesterday for the first time, but really, what it is that I do at the seminars, why I come to support at the seminars and how the giving on my part to others can produce giving on their part, and also cause giving on the part of other strangers!

And yes, this isn't just a cliche: to create a world that works for everyone without exceptions.

I was invited to participate in the project of Essence Seminar March 2002 (I was the seminar supervisor) that was carried out at a home for young women in distress in the Jerusalem area.
Despite my very busy schedule for the day, I cleared 2 hours in the middle of the day in order to come and take part in this wonderful event.
The group organized half a day of fun for the girls living at the home.
At the beginning of the day, the girls participated at 4 stations: Makeup (Ronnie), Face painting (Shela), Salsa Dancing (Eyal and Hofit - outside volunteers), and massages (Liat).

Afterwards, there was an amazing barbeque lunch, that was donated and cooked on location by Chef Mordechai (David's Violin - Kinur David). Mordechai just happens to be a neighbor of Mike at Yshuv Kidar, and has not participated in any of the OUTLOOK seminars - he just really wanted to give.
Dani Maadani of Ashdod donated 8 kilos of salad.
70 pita breads for the gourmet lunch were donated by the Yeshuv Adam Bakery, that also surprized us by donating another full box of rolls - and 2 boxes of pastries and cakes (to insure that the day will also be sweet).

After the lunch, the girls, together with the seminar graduates, painted a huge cloth sign inscribed with "I have Love from within, and it will prevail", which was the slogan of this wonderful day and stamped with hand and foot prints of all - all with paints donated by a local Tambour hardware store.
The girls were filmed during the entire day - stills and video - donated (including development) by the Tzamtzam chain of photography stores.

As a finale, each girl received presents - personal albums for the photographs, gift packages containing a scarf and jewelery, also a personal towel donated by Celine (one of the seminar graduates), and an impressive personal makeup packet that was donated by the Clinic Company with the help of Nava Aharoni.
And in addition, the seminar members dedicated to each girl a personal laminated copy of Eshet Hayl (Valiant Woman).

As I mentioned earler, I arrived towards the end of the day, and felt a great honor to see so many happy people - about 20 teenage girls smiling from ear to ear (simply overwhelmed with graditude) - and about 10 seminar graduates also "in the clouds" - 3 people that I had never seen before that came to give - apparently giving, leads to giving, leads to giving.... and the entire institution staff that was completely flabergasted.
One of the managers came to say thanks - and how she had had serious doubts from the beginning, but now hopes now that we will return.

And I want to say to all of you THANK YOU!
Thanks to the girls themselves and the staff that allowed us to come to the institution and to give.
Thanks to all the beautiful people along the way that donated so much (including those that I didn't mention).
Thanks to the group: Shela, Ronnie, Yankee, Mike, Liat, Dana, Boris, Dina, Shoshi, and Sharon.
Thanks to Leah and to Itsik who supported the graduates (and to the other seminar graduates that weren't able to take part in the event of the day, but donated much during the preparations).
Thanks to Striko who volunteered to come and did everything possible to help out and support.
Thanks to Chef Mordechai and the Salsa dancers Eyal and Hofit who came and donated their time for others (who haven't even attended the first OUTLOOK seminar).
Thanks to EVERYONE who organized and support the entired time - starting at the conclusion of the seminar and ending with the project.

A full life to you all - full of love and giving.
