Renovations at 2 day care centers in Mivatserit Tzion
and organization of a fun day
Name of the project: We are all children of life
We located 2 children's' shelters caring for children who never received
a fair chance to grow up. Yes, Israel still has children lacking even
the most fundamental daily necessities - loving and supportive parents
interested in their welfare.
We the November 2004 Essence Graduates decided to renovate and furnish
2 shelters in Mivatztet Tzion operated by the "OR Shalom Non-profit
Organization" and to transform them into a warm and supporting atmosphere.
In addition, we organized a fun day for the children.
At one center, a regular family lives with 11 children aged 6-16 that
were removed from homes due to abuse or serious neglect. The center, operated
by a loving couple, gives the children a supportive atmosphere and exposes
them to a true home experience.
The project included:
- Donations Evening - public singing event at the Yad Ha-Shamona Hotel
- all proceeds were donated to the project.
- Renovating 2 family shelters - general painting, wall paintings
in every room, replacing many electrical appliances including lighting
fixtures and fans, hanging of shelves, replacing main door, curtains,
bathroom accessories, pictures, books, furniture, mattresses, chairs,
gardening, general cleaning and clean-up, and more.
Fun day
A fun day was held For 3 family shelters (the kids and the professional
staff) at the Yehoshua Park in Tel-Aviv. The fun day included breakfast,
games to increase the group's cohesiveness, "Treasure Hunt"
games, a boat ride, lunch (BBQ) and presents for each child.
